Peerless



Peerless Bosses, or just Peerlesses, are "boss" monsters that spawn in certain dungeons that were introduced with the Mondain's Legacy expansion.

Their rooms can be accessed only by acquiring certain keys.

For most, the pattern is that keys are obtained from certain monsters within the dungeons. The keys are dungeon-appropriate objects with timers (they expire after a certain period of time).

Normally these keys are then exchanged at a certain place in the dungeon for a "main key", but not always such as on Prism of Light. This key is then used to access the Peerless room.

From the Peerlesses are obtained certain unique artifacts and ingredients with which certain other artifacts can be crafted.

Dread Horn (Slayer = Fey Slayer) - Found at Twisted Weald. To get the key to fight him you need to start the quest from Anathor (he's at the entrance to Twisted Weald). The boss altar is all the way across of Twisted Weald, after the small desert. To enter Twisted Weald you must have the quest Dreadhorn, given at Heartwood by Lorekeeper Calendor the Keeper of Tradition.
Special drops: Dread Horn Mane, Dreadhorn's Flute, Dread's Revenge and some more decorations.

Lady Melisande (Slayer = Fey Slayer) - Found at Blighted Grove. To get the key you must complete the Frightened Dryad's quest, the dryad can be found inside Blighted Grove.
Special drops: Diseased Bark, Melisande's Corroded Hatchet, Eternally Corrupt Tree and some more decorations.

Monstrous Interred Grizzle - Found at Bedlam. Like all Peerless monsters, keys are needed to access it. The keys resemble magery scrolls, and are found on various named undead creatures found throughout Bedlam. They are called "disintegrating thesis notes." A certain quest, given by Master Cohen, is needed to convert the thesis notes into a "librarian's key," which is used to access the boss.
Special drops: Tombstone of the damned, Monstrous Interred Grizzle Maggots, Grizzled Bones, Monstrous Interred Grizzle Armor Set piece.

Shimmering Effusion (Slayer = Fey Slayer) - Found at the Prism of Light. The keys can be found on the linear way of the dungeon, in the loot of the crystal creatures. This boss doesn't require the keys to be changed into a master key.
Special drops: Corporal Brume Statuette, Mantra Effervescence Statuette, Fetid Essence Statuette, Crystalline Ring, Captured Essence.

Each ML peerless will drop 8 mixed items needed to craft several craftable artifacts (total) from the following group:
Corruption, Taint, Blight, Putrefaction, Muculent, Scourge.
They also drop a random set item and can drop Minor Artifacts as well.
